Crochet is not just a creative outlet; it is a form of therapy. It allows us to explore the journey of creation through our hands, while promoting our overall wellbeing and making friends along the way.

These classes are small, intimate and hands-on where students will learn:

•⁠ ⁠The basic techniques of crochet

•⁠ ⁠Common stitches (e.g. chain stitch and single crochet stitch)

•⁠ ⁠To read crochet patterns

•⁠ ⁠Different types of yarn and crochet hooks

In these classes we will cover:

•⁠ ⁠How to hold a crochet hook

•⁠ ⁠How to hold the working yarn

•⁠ ⁠Pattern terminologies

•⁠ ⁠Learn basic crochet stitches

•⁠ ⁠Change yarn colours

•⁠ ⁠Bind/fasten off your yarn ends

Materials required (Starter Kits, with all required materials, will be available to be purchased on the first day of class) :

1.⁠ ⁠Crochet hooks – 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm

End of term project: By end of term, students will be completing two projects based on the skills they have acquired during the term.

End of year exhibition/stall:

The exhibition will allow all students to showcase their projects and skills, that they have learnt through the classes, to family, friends and other students. Additionally, all students will have the opportunity to sell their own crochet creations alongside Artantana Handmade.
